“Benigno Rayme Grande” from 1000 Faces Coffee.
roaster: 1000 Faces Coffee; Athens, GA
origin: Cusco; Peru
price: $16
tasting: 11/22/18
This is another special coffee from 1000 Faces Coffees, that comes from the South Highlands or Cusco region of Peru. Even though it would be considered a single origin coffee it contains three varietals of Arabica Coffee – Bourbon, Caturra, & Mundo Novo and was sourced through Red Fox Coffee Merchants.
This coffee is more geared towards pour over coffee than espresso. As an espresso it was sweet, golden, light but juicy. The key flavor is probably more clementine than orange, and it was certainly full of light citrus flavor. Not a classic espresso, but unique and flavorful.
Espresso Rating – 88pts.
As mentioned this is a light roast from Peru, that has a nice consistent flavor of oranges and honey. Smooth start through to a smooth finish, if you’re a fan of light coffees this one will be perfect.
Coffee Rating – 88pts.
