roaster: 1000 Faces Coffee; Long Beach, Ca
origin: Athens, GA, USA
This coffee is another coffee form 1000 Faces Coffee in Athens Georgia. The other one being the highest rated espresso this year. These single origin beans come form the town town of Gorbota in the Ethiopia Misty Valley.
The roast is light to medium. As and espresso you can taste the blueberry notes, and some brown sugar. A little more acidity and earthiness on the finish than I expected. This is certainly a uniquely flavored coffee, much different from the other Ethiopian Coffees we’ve tried this year, but one that’s more ideal as a coffee.
Espresso Rating – 86pts.
As a pour over coffee, the first thing you notice is the aroma of berries. It has a much smoother balance with flavors of blueberries & cherries. Some people might think this a warm weather coffee, but the robust flavor of the berries, makes this great for colder weather. Clean finish, and a very unique coffee.
Coffee Rating – 89pts.
