Brave Coffee & Tea – Honduras Comsa

“Honduras Comsa” from Brave Coffee & Tea

Brave-Coffee-Honduras

roaster:Brave Coffee; Waterbury Center, VT
origin: La Paz, Honduras
price: $13
tasting: 7/12/19

We don’t get a chance to review many coffees from Honduras, so we were excited to try this one. These beans come for the lush tropical forests outside of La Paz in central Honduras. This also is the second coffee we’ve tried from Vermont based Brave Coffee & Tea. This is a really good coffee value at only $13 per bag.

As an espresso this one was sweet, a lot of blueberry, maybe a little too exotic for a true espresso.  Blueberry, orange and fruit flavors dominate the shot. It also was a little difficult to lock in the espresso, but certainly one you want to try as coffee.

Espresso Rating – 87pts

These beans shined as a pour over coffee, and offered a nice flavor profile of blueberry, and oranges. This would be a great coffee on a warm summer day for sure.

Coffee Rating – 89pts.

About our ratings – For both ratings (espresso & pour over) we’re looking at the flavor profile, along with drink-ability and balance. Reviewing the coffee as the espresso gives us extra insights into the nuanced flavors of the beans.
