“Guji Shakisu” (Yirgacheffe) from Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters

First off, this is a great story about the popularity and accessibility of great coffee. Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters is located in Sandpoint, amazing town in northwest Idaho. You’d be hard pressed to find a more remote coffee roaster in the continental US. However the beauty of living in a connect world, is on January 3rd the coffee was roasted on the banks of the Pend Oreille River in Idaho, and three days later it arrived in Kittanning Pa on the banks for the Allegheny River.
Evans Brothers was founded in 2009, by obviously two brothers, who focus is on single origin coffees, directly sourced from high elevation farms. The coffee is a popular Yirgacheffe, Ethiopian, from the Guji Zone. The coffee is light, smooth, not too nutty or dry. Tasting notes of butterscotch, floral, melons, and hints of citrus.
Espresso Rating – 88pts.
As a coffee it has quite a different flavor profile, but is even smoother and easy to drink. We can taste the peach, and light lemons, with a subtle nutty finish.
