R.V.W. produces barrel aged coffees, meaning the pre-roasted beans are aged in whiskey barrels. They’re based in the up and coming city of Chattanooga TN, and also use the same tactics with wine barrels. This style of flavoring coffee is becoming a little more popular so chances are you might have seen whiskey coffee before.

The coffee is a medium roast Colombian coffee, and it’s definitely a whiskey flavored coffee, it smells like whiskey, it tastes like whiskey, if you like whiskey & coffee this is your coffee.

The coffee beans come from Narino Colombia and would be a quality coffee alone, but the whiskey is the over powering flavor here. Again this isn’t coffee with a slight whiskey taste it’s full-on flavor, and as soon as you open the bag the room will smell like whiskey. Most coffees are drank in the morning, however this coffee is certainly one you can have in evening. It’s unique on so many levels. This coffee isn’t for every one, it’s strong, intense, but a really nicely done coffee, deliver a smooth sipping cup of coffee. It’s great craft drink.

Coffee Rating – 90pts.

About our ratings – For both ratings (espresso & pour over) we’re looking at the flavor profile, along with drink-ability and balance. Reviewing the coffee as the espresso gives us extra insights into the nuanced flavors of the beans.
