“House Roast” from Rise Up Coffee Roasters
roaster:Rise Up Coffee; Easton, MD
origin: Honduras, Sumatra, Guatemala.
price: $13
tasting: 8/7/19
We picked this coffee up on vacation in Delaware, but it’s actually roasted in Maryland and sent to the various Rise-Up Coffee Shops. They create artisan organic coffees. This one is their signature organic coffee blend, and fills thousands of cups a day. We do coffee reviews to share exceptional coffees with you, and this one certainly qualifies.
As an espresso it was a little too dark and tasted too much like a really strong coffee, as opposed to a sweet and savory espresso. This blend is made for coffee.
Espresso Rating – 85pts
This a rich and complex coffee. We’d consider it dark roast, but it tasted lighter. It definitely has notes of chocolate, but mixes in a smooth canvas of rich fruit. It’s full, it’s complex, and it delivered a great cup of coffee every time.
Coffee Rating – 92pts.

About our ratings – For both ratings (espresso & pour over) we’re looking at the flavor profile, along with drink-ability and balance. Reviewing the coffee as the espresso gives us extra insights into the nuanced flavors of the beans.
