The story behind RBC is that one of the founders is a native of Rwanda, and company’s mission is to give 50% of their profits back to Rwandan Farmers and their communities. They have locations in Portland Maine, as well as sell coffees online. The funds provide to support the health, education, clean energy, and operational needs of the farmers. Ikizere means “hope” in Kinyarwanda, and all the cofee beans are of the Bourbon arabica varietal.
This was a very good single origin espresso, that produced a classic espresso taste. It was light, creamy, slightly bitter, with the right amount of acidity and was all around delightful.
Espresso Rating – 90pts.
As a coffee this was a nice clean and complex coffee that has a lasting flavor. Notes of chocolate, with some light fruits. It’s a nice medium roast coffee that would appeal to most coffee drinkers.
Coffee Rating – 88pts.
Special thanks to the team at Rwanda for the coffee, visit them at www.RwandaBean.com. We’ll have another coffee from Rwanda Bean soon, so check back often.
